Harold Benjamin, the West End-based niche real estate practice, will be delegates on the London Stand at this year’s MIPIM – the leading global property event for real estate professionals from all over the world.
Now in its 27th year, the four day event held in Cannes in the South of France, brings together a who’s who of people drawn from a wide variety of real estate sectors including investors, corporate end-users, local authorities and key leading players from all international property sectors from office, residential and retail through to healthcare, sport, logistics and industrial.
Flying the flag for Harold Benjamin will be Vijay Parikh, partner and head of the firm’s Commercial Property Investment team, and John Townsend, head of the Auction Advisory Service. “MIPIM is undoubtedly one of the world’s largest and best-known industry events bringing together the most influential players from all international property sectors and offering unrivalled access to the greatest number of development projects and sources of capital worldwide,” said Vijay.
“This unique environment provides exceptional networking, showcasing and commercial opportunities for property advisors, developers, regional authorities, investors and corporate end-users.
“Our clients are based not only in the UK but overseas including the Middle East, Africa, the Far East and India and, as a result of the international nature of much of the work that we do, they expect us to be represented at the industry’s premier real estate event.”
The London Stand will present and promote the capital as the number one global city with the best real estate investment opportunities for overseas investors and there will be a presentation and detailed analysis of the UK real estate sector in general and a discussion on how it is likely to perform in the future.
Commenting on this year’s event, Julien Sausset, MIPIM Director, said that through its international programme of conferences and events, MIPIM allows participants to find new partners, close deals, discover new projects and gain detailed insight into the latest global market trends.
“Our aim is to keep MIPIM at the forefront of future trends by providing high-standard content,” he said. “Since the 2008 downturn, the property sector has been turned on its head. Real estate professionals attending MIPIM this year are looking for accurate information on the market and we are meeting this demand by further strengthening content through a robust conference programme with key speakers drawn from across the real estate spectrum.
“In 2015, we put the digital revolution under the spotlight and for 2016 we have decided to open up the discussion on housing by announcing ‘Housing the World’ as MIPIM’s overriding theme. It will be treated from a variety of different angles so that all participants will go away from MIPIM 2016 with a more profound knowledge of the subject.
“There will also be dedicated conference sessions on the subjects of technology, tourism, logistics, architecture, healthcare, retail and climate change all under the real estate umbrella.”
Mr Sausset said this year’s event would also reflect on the latest trends emerging in the real estate market. “These trends,” he said, “include the shift of the property sector from a goods-centric to a service-centric market, how the real estate industry can fight global warming and the new deal in real estate investment at a global level.”
This year’s event will run from 15 – 18 March 2016 at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France, and will comprise more than 350 stands from 89 countries. The exhibition space covers nearly 20,000 sq m with 2,500 exhibiting companies and around 5,000 investors. The event is expected to attract well over 21,000 visitors with 150 networking events and more than 100 conferences taking place over the four-day period.
