Development & Planning

My practice involves the acquisitions and sales of inner city and Greenfield development sites for various developers throughout the South East and South West of England.  In addition, I often act as lead consortium lawyer for developers of both Plc and private companies in connection with commercial property acquisitions and extensive multi-purpose developments.

I am actively involved in various planning matters including appeals to the Secretary of State, structure, district and local planning enquiries, planning agreements and Land Tribunal matters.  I also advise developers in funding building and finance agreements relating to developments.

Experience

I have extensive expertise in all areas of commercial property and development matters.

  • ​Acting on the acquisition and sale of inner city and Greenfield development sites for various developers throughout the South East and South West of England.
  • Acting as lead consortium lawyer for developers of both PLC and private companies in connection with large scale strategic land promotion and assembly, commercial property acquisitions and extensive multi-purpose developments.
  • Acting for developers in funding building and finance agreements relating to developments.  A number of projects I am involved with include site assembly (multi land owners) though to planning, acquisition and ultimately delivery of estate infrastructure and the sale of units.
  • Involvement in various planning matters relating to the promotion of sites for development to include appeals to the Secretary of State, district and local planning enquiries, planning agreements and Land Tribunal matters.

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Law, University of London
  • Post-Qualified Experience: 41 years (1978)

  • Member of the Law Society of England & Wales
  • As a leader in my field, I have been described as:

  • The 2012 edition of Chambers stated:

Life Outside the Law

I enjoy history, clay pigeon shooting, rugby, cricket, gardening and am a Governor of the Kingshott School in Hitchin.
